TAMPA CRIMINAL BLOG: Tampa Bay Buccaneer Aqib Talib Charged With Battery For Hitting Cab Driver

A few months ago Tampa Bay Buccaneer cornerback Aqib Talib was involved in an altercation in Pinellas County with a cab driver. Now the State Attorney has decided to charge the Buc with battery. The charge is simple battery and is a misdemeanor according to TBO.com. Talib was expected to be with the team Friday morning when they left to play the New England Patriots in London, England.
The incident that led to the charges took place on I-275 and Gandy after 11:00 p.m. when Talib and two of his teammates were taking the cab from a St. Petersburg nightclub to a Tampa hotel. The Buc corner was originally arrested on battery and resisting arrest charges. He will only face charges on the first-degree misdemeanor charge of battery though.
